Tidal Generation

Tidal Generation Limited (TGL) is at the forefront in the design, development and manufacture of tidal stream turbines for the capture and conversion of tidal energy to electrical power. Based in Bristol (UK), TGL’s core business is the provision of equipment and maintenance services to tidal power developers world-wide.

TGL is are currently operating a 500kWe concept demonstrator unit at The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) Tidal site in Orkney. This has been generating since September 2010 and provides power for up to 300 homes.

TGL is also developing the next generation 1MWe tidal stream turbine, in a project partnership with the Energy Technologies Institute (ETI). This project aims to collect and publish significant data in order to further the tidal energy industry as a whole.
